Energy Resilience
Sustainable Hatherleigh and the Community Centre are pleased to announce that after two years of grant applications we have been successfully awarded £20k from the National Lottery Community Fund for solar panel installation on the Community Centre roof. This 40kW solar array consists of 85 panels and will generate significant electricity, reducing the Centre’s huge energy bills and its carbon output.
And now, with thanks to £25K of funding from West Devon Borough Council, the solar panels are supported by a battery system. These will provide enough stored energy for the centre to operate for most of the year on solar power.
